You CAN help restore Hope to the hurting.
Every year we receive many inquiries from parents wanting to sign up their child(ren) for our mentorship program. The stories I hear can vary from a history of trauma, anxiety, foster-adoption challenges, or difficulty dealing with the loss of a loved one. They mostly just want their child to find a place where they belong, are encouraged, and accepted. A safe place where they can be themselves, and possibly, even learn a sense of responsibility.
With so many things concerning parents today, the One thing we never want them to worry about is the cost of mentorship sessions. When they ask, "how much do the sessions cost?" I hear immediate Hope in their voice when I explain that all mentorship services are offered at no cost to the families, ever. This is something I have strongly believed in, and Hope to continue.
Meet "Hope." She is our namesake, and a huge part of our mentorship program. Hope, along with our other program horses, are often referred to as our special "equine counselors". These former rescue horses can often identify with a child's emotional pain and struggles, because they too have endured various forms of crisis in their past; One of the big reasons why these rescue horses make awesome equine mentors for hurting kids (and adults).
The bond formed between horse and child can be absolutely amazing. Along with the careful guidance and encouragement from our volunteer, mentor leaders, and through God's loving grace, both children and horses can experience restored hope and often move 4ward toward healing.
